Fine art: Once upon a time
Once upon a time, the first series from Labyrinth inside the mirror.
After the Grimm Brothers, Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Perrault, and so many others who created stories and tales, and transmitted them from one generation to another, the pill needed some sugar. It was time to transform such originally harsh and gruesome stories into fairy tales with happy endings, beautiful princesses and brave princes. In these stories, time seemed to freeze when the moment for “…and they lived happily ever after. The end.” arrived.
How many of us dreamed with the sugared pill!
I have chosen twenty-one characters from stories and tales and made them travel in time. What would have happened to Pinocchio years later, would he have become a good boy? Would have lies filled his life? And what about Snow White over the years? Could have Blue Beard slept peacefully with so many homicides in his mind? Did Sleeping Beauty finally wake up? What has happened to all of us now that we are adult Pinocchios, grown Little Red Riding Hoods, aged faeries, princes that continue waiting for the princess’s awakening? Have we changed in time or made of our childhood wiles our way of life...?
These are classic tales, family stories which we have listened since our childhood. How can I not mention Carl Jung while dealing with the collective unconscious throughout this series? Each character has been photographed as an archetype ...years later.
